When your up on the mountain, or down in the valley, when things go wrong, he'll make them right. Years ago I thought that a situation in my family was hopeless, but I have learned that if you wait on God, he can make everything bright again. The way seemed so dim, but he really did send the brightness our way several years later. I have a saved Dad due to that brightness that he shed down on us. I am so thankful that he is saved right now. How would he have handled the valley that we are in right now if he didn't have God in his heart? My heart is broken right now, as is the rest of our family, our church family and many, many friends, in many areas of the country. Let's all pray for each other that God will give us the comfort that he promises us. His word says, I will never leave thee or forsake thee. That is a GREAT comfort. In Psalms 29:11, it says, The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace. This is really helping me. Another verse, Psalms 27:1-The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Please, ecspecially pray for the family. No one knows until their gone how much their loved. She was soooooo loved. I'm sitting here after restless pacing, reading, eating, etc... waiting for my kiddies to come home. I'll explain, 2 of my children went on a 11 day trip out west to Montana to visit with my brother-in-law and sis-in-law with the my husbands parents. What were we thinking? That's just entirely too long! I miss them so bad and I am not going to bed till they get here! It's 3:51 in the early morning. Aren't we going to have a fun day? I did sleep yesterday afternoon for about 4 hours so I'm not glazed over yet. I'm just worried. They need to be here by now! They were suppose to be here by 3:30a.m., but you know how that goes. They flew into Nashville and got their(in-laws) car they left at the airport, so they figured they'd be home in our little city by 3:30. Yeah, they are 2 minutes away, gotta go! Thank you God!!!!

It is so hard to sit and do nothin'

Well, I had surgery last Friday, as planned, and it went really well. I was really nervous, but God helped me a lot, as I knew he would. Thanks to those of you that were praying. I had a hysterectomy due to problems I have had for years. It was a big decision, being that it would mean major surgery; me, being out of commission for a while and the finality of knowing that there would be no more kids, and "that", part of my life would be over. But, you know, I thought and prayed about it, and I feel really blessed to have 4 precious children that are healthy and normal, and my cup fills blessedly full and I am ready to feel better and have a better quality of life and move on to the next phase of my life. I'm still "somewhat" young and I am looking so forward to enjoying LIFE more. Enjoying my kids more, and whatever God brings to my life. So I'm not really sad. Some women are, and maybe it will come later, but as of right now, I and my husband feel good about our decision. Now I just need yall to pray for patience for me that I can make myself rest like I need to, to heal up properly. I wake up feeling halfway decent, so I'm like, "I can straighten up the house a little, move a few kitchen chairs around so I can sweep, slide the exercise bike across the living room to move it out of the way, bend over to pick up a few (hundred)ha-kidding, barbie shoes, clothes, etc. and then BHAM!!!! why did I do that? What was I thinking? I paid dearly for that little cleaning frenzy. See, you have to understand, my mother called and said that she was coming over in a few minutes (this was yesterday) to clean and straighten up for us some, well, any of you that know my mom, knows the reputation she has built for herself through the years, she is very, very clean (like, eat off the floors, clean), so I went into panic mode and decided that I needed to get up from my resting chair, and straighten up before she gets here, so she wouldn't think the house was as messy as it really was. Well, guess what, the house looked pretty good after my 15 minute fly-lady frenzy, but I dearly paid for it the rest of the day. I had severe cramping in my stomach and back for the rest of the day and a horrible headache. I finally decided that I will not be that stupid again and will not worry that my house doesn't stay as clean as my moms. I know, I could use the, "but she doesn't have 4 kids," cop-out, but that is exactly what it would be, "a cop-out." Because, when her 3 kids were all at home she kept a spotless house. O-Kay yall, my house is clean, but my mother I'm not. Sorry. How spotless I keep my house is not my number 1 goal in life. I'm not at all discounting my mother for her house keeping skills though. Don't get me wrong. Anyway, my mom did some of the basic things,(laundry, vacuuming) and then some of the not so basic things, like cleaning Brooklyn and Annie's room-including the closet(LOL) I told my husband after looking at the results that man, when my mama does something, she does it right!! The room and closet looked great!!!! Ron was kind of mystified because she did 1 room like thoroughly and only 1 load of laundry. I tried to explain to him, but being that he is a man, and just don't get it, my mom understood how a woman thinks, a woman, or most women, think, ugghhh! this room is a disaster and the closet is a wreck and I would love to tear in to it and clean it up and she knew it was bothering me to look at it, so she decided to take that load and temptation off my mind. May God bless her!!!!! I appreciated it sooo much. See, Ron had knee-surgery 4 weeks ago, so he can't do just anything either. He is doing good, but he can't bend but only so far and he is limited on things that he can do. He will be off work for a 6 week period.

We haven't hardly had to cook at all this week, which has been a huge help. The saints and family have brought food every day for use since last Sunday. What a blessing!!!!! We have been eating good, let me tell ya! Sis. Haney, bless her heart, brought a feast. She is such a blessing. Different people have kept the kids. So we have felt so loved and blessed this week by so many people. I can't express how thankful I am to each of them. Also the visits and people calling and people just praying has been wonderful. I've been neglecting my poor blog as of late. I'm sorry, but in my spare time I'd rather read. I just finished a big fat book. I didn't want to put it down. But I finally finished it. It was based around Navy Seals(I love books about military stuff) I find it very interesting. Anyhow, it snowed in our little place of the world the other day! The kids were sooo excited! It was so pretty coming down. We don't see snow very often, so it was nice. The kids got out and played and threw snow balls and collected snow in big containers to save in the freezer for next year I guess. I was like, I don't think so. My naughty son just had to bring a big ball of snow in and stuff in down the back of my shirt. Yheaw!!!!! Talk about a standing up a little straighter(while the very ice cold snow slides slowly down my back). I was not impressed! Jen, I've been taking your advice about weeding out the old stuff (to bring in the new, LOL). No, I really have been cleaning out and it really makes it alot easier to keep things clean. Thanks for the suggestion to get up and start to work!
Oh a new little helpful hint I just discovered the other day trying to get color markings and pen marks off my counters, I sprinkled some baking soda on the spots and scrubbed with a damp cloth and Wa la' they were gone. I was impressed. The abrasive powder did the trick but left no scratches that comet cleaner would have probably left. So maybe that will be helpful to somebody. One more hint I read in a cookbook that I thought was very interesting also, If you have a cook pot or skillet with baked on food left in the bottom, get a dryer sheet, place in the pot or pan fill with water and let soak over night. The next morning, pour out water and throw away wet dryer sheet and wash regular and the stuff will come right off. Neat huh?

Mini Hannah Montana-Mini Miley Cyrus

And introducing to you, "Ms. Mini Miley!"

Brookie got a Cheetah girl electric guitar and a Hannah

Montana wig for Christmas, watch out world! I love Christmas but it's such a busy, busy time. The kids are all snuggled up in their beds with visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads. I wish! They are all hyped up about Christmas, I have not wrapped a single thing and I've got to hurry up the kids are thinking that they are not getting anything. (no, they know better). We are almost done with our shopping, that's a good thing. Whew! I'm doing better than last year. You would think that the kids would be being extra good but they know that Santa isn't real so I can't threaten them with that. The little girls have been fighting like cats and dogs, that's what I mean by it's been one of them kind of days. Calgon, take me away.......please!!!!!

I feel like a bad mom feeling that way but I know I can't be the only one to feel this way sometimes. Right now as I am trying to type my youngest is standing beside me screaming her head off . She just got in trouble and she has been crying and her throat hurts from crying so much that she is begging me to give her some medicine and she just went and got the thermometer and is checking her temperature herself. Isn't that funny? The screaming isn't though. She said that she wants to have a fever so that she doesn't have to go to church.(it's not even church day). Kids are a mess aren't they? I think we need an early bedtime tonight. I think us girlie's need to have a spa day. Wouldn't that be fun? Oh well, we can dream can't we? It's nice to vent every once in a while this has helped some. I hadn't posted in a while so I wanted to drop a line.

Happy Holidays!!!!!

Thanksgiving-A Thankful Time

Thanksgiving- What a wonderful thing to do.... have a special day every year to especially be thankful for everything good and wonderful in our lives. I'm really thankful that somebody years and years ago thought to do this. We as Christians are thankful everyday but we do tend to be extra thankful on Thanksgiving. Especially when we see such large feasts on our tables and have very special families to share all this food with and good times of laughter and memory making moments with. We are soooo blessed!

I am so very thankful for God and that he died on the cross for our sins. He didn't have to but I'm so thankful that he did. I am thankful for my family(IMMEDIATE) and (EXTENDED). I love them all so much. I am thankful that we have so much and don't have to do without. God supplies all our needs, and even gives us some extra. Isn't that wonderful?! I am thankful for a church family and wonderful friends. I love them all!

This has been a very nice relaxing weekend, the kids are out of school. We have enjoyed being together, sleeping late (for a change), great food and the wonderful freedom to be able to do whatever we would desire to do. (within reason, I might add). We are a "free" country a very "blessed" country, the U.S. of A. And this freedom we have is ours because God had blessed our nation and allowed out country to prosper. God. God in his greatness has allowed our country to be blessed. I wish every American would recognize this. Men would not have prospered at all if God hadn't allowed. He really must love us an awful lot. I think I'll share a few.... The clock has been put back an hour. Does this affect people? Well, maybe not some people, but it sure did affect me. I am one of those people that tries to trick my mind into thinking. O-kay! yeah! I can stay up an extra hour and still go to bed at the normal time (that is instilled in my bodily clock), and read the rest of my book until my eyes are crossing, and all the words are blurring together, and wake up and feel just as rested and perky as ever. Boy did my brain not fall for that reverse psychology. I spent all day yesterday trying to get my batteries recharged. I found out- The Energizer Bunny.... I'm not. Lol. But, allow me to say that once I recharged, I feel great and really am looking forward to the earlier nightfall and the nippy weather that has come our way. I love to get out my candles in the evening and light up a few dozen and whip up a casserole (a comfort food type casserole), or cook up a big pot of soup or chicken stew; umm, umm good. I love the coziness of the earlier evenings. I found a station on XM Radio that is playing Christmas music. I know, it's just the first week of November, and I realize I might be rushing it a bit, but I love Christmas music, and it just seems to go wonderfully well with the changing season. Also, my children are my life (aside from God), but the earlier nights just seem to shut my children's bodies down alot quicker. By 8:00 or so they are pretty much ready for bed, and I shall not lie, that is such a nice thing...Whew! Although I have to admit, my body is trying to shut down alot quicker also. That's not so nice because now I have free time and I can't hardly keep my eyes open. UGHHH!

I thought I would add a little more this and that and post a wonderful Heloise hint that I love this time of year and it's great any time.....

Would you love for your house to smell like you have been baking all day - maybe a fresh apple pie or a yummy seasonal dessert without all the hassle, and without all the calories that we really don't need? Well try this, it is wonderful, the kids will walk in from school searching for that apple pie (now they will be disappointed, but they'll get over it)ha.

Fill a small sauce pan (glass or aluminum) half full of water, about 1/4 cup of vinegar a couple tsp. vanilla and 1 to 2 tsp. of cinnamon . Allow to simmer on the stove top for as long as you want, as long as you add water every hour or so. This makes your home smell like a freshly baked apple pie. I love this wonderful smell. You can make it a tradition every fall to simmer this a few days a week and I guarantee that your children will always associate this aroma with home.

Thanksgiving is coming up soon and I will be thinking on things that I am most thankful for. Those will be for another post, so please check in now and again and let's share some of life's blessings. I would love to hear some of your thoughts on this. Oh, and a few new receipes would be nice also.

Our Troops

The sacrifice these men make for our country is something that is totally unimaginable in my mind. These men know that they may not make it home, but they love our country so much that they will put their lives on the line to allow us to keep our freedom. I have posted a few pictures here of my first cousin who is in the military police battalion over in Iraq right now, protecting us from our seen and not so unseen enemies. In my mind these men and women are the hero's of our country. Let's remember them in our prayers that God will protect them and reward them for their ultimate sacrifice.

I Love You Boo, Stay safe.

You are my Sunshine

Just Thinking
Finding a Treasure.
My Little Sunshine

Cheese!!!

Annie is my little sunshine. I love him very much. We are in this crazy, family raising thing together. We wanted 6 kids, but after 2 decided 4 would be plenty, thank you very much. Do we have our hands full, you may ask?(lots of people tell me this in town), yes we do, but there is absolutely nothing I would rather be doing.(except sleeping the day away with the covers over my head)lol, those days will be back again someday and I plan to enjoy every age of my childrens lives.I may think my house does not look like I might always wish but are we really going to remeber the messy house years down the road or the wonderful times that we spent together as a family? They are going to grow up and leave the nest someday and I would much rather remember the special times together . I think I need a tissue.

Well I think we are pretty much on a first name basis now, so I'll tell you a few more things about me, then I'll sign off. I love going to church, my relationship with God is my life, I love him sooo much, he has been so good to me. I am thankful to be able to raise my kids to know all about him and his word. I love to read, just give me a good, fat book and let me tell you I'm in heaven. I love to sing, singing to myself comforts me. Now it might make you feel like covering your ears or running for cover as fast as you can, but, yeah, it comforts me. I have a twin brother that probably hates my singing. I probably sung us to sleep a few times too many as babies seeing as we probably shared a bed a few times. We look like Mutt and Jeff beside each other. He's a hulking dude and I'm a short gal. Hardly anybody thinks we look much alike. I have a sister 13 months younger. I have 2 nephews and 3 neices, and let me tell you they each own a piece of my heart(I love them so much). I love chocolate and pan pizza. I do love fruits and veges. too , but truthfully, I just love food period. Sometimes this is not a good thing. Oh and Chinese food (my stomach is fixing to growl). I love to make people smile and I love to help others. If I could ever be remembered for anything it would be for everybody to know that I loved them. I like to sew when I have time and make neat crafty things. Someday i'd like to go into the craft making business. Well enough is enough. I've talked about myself enough that maybe y0u feel like you know me a little bit. My blogs from now on will consist of the days of sunshine that pops up over the horizon. Maybe some juicy tidbits of info that I learn daily about all sorts of things. I learn something new everyday. I will try to share little bits of happenings in my life and always love hearing all you guys blogger stories out there.
